Xiaoling, also known as Xing Xiaoling, serves as a Bronze Saint of the Ursa Minor constellation within the Saintia—an order of female warriors devoted to Athena's protection. She trained at Switzerland's Saint Academy, earning her Ursa Minor Bronze Cloth upon graduation. Her personality reflects energetic determination, often declaring an unwavering commitment to safeguard Athena regardless of personal risk.

Her combat techniques focus on cosmic energy manipulation. Xiaoling's primary attack, the Kyokuten Shichi Sei Ken (Polar Heavens Seven Star Fist), channels pink energy into her fists for rapid, powerful strikes. Another technique, the Kyokuten Hokushin Kō, involves raising her hand skyward to generate starlike light above her.

Her involvement commences upon arriving at the Kido Mansion, where she mistakenly assaults Tatsumi Tokumaru before Dolphin Mii intervenes, prompting Xiaoling's apology. Noticing Saori Kido's despondency, she attempts to uplift her spirits. During the Galaxian Wars, she defends Saori from attacks by Juan of Scutum and Georg of Southern Cross, later joined unexpectedly by Katya of Corona Borealis. Xiaoling targets Katya with her Kyokuten Shichi Sei Ken, but Katya blocks it with an ice wall and freezes Xiaoling using Jewelic Tears. Mayura of Pavo intervenes, teleporting Xiaoling to safety at Mount Togakushi.

Later, she and Equuleus Kyōko vigilantly watch over the unconscious Shō, who succumbed to Pisces Aphrodite's roses. Eagle Marine then informs them of an assault on the Saint Academy. Prior to the Sanctuary battle, Marine oversees Xiaoling's combat training.

Her character design incorporates partial Japanese heritage. Narratively, she functions as a counterpart to Dragon Shiryu from the original series, with her initial role downplaying direct combat; her first significant battle occurs deep into the manga's storyline.
