Zenko Fujiwara is a 15-year-old human girl raised in a temple. She initially appears cold and distant, maintaining a poker face and communicating only in blunt, concise phrases like "Yeah" or "Got it." Standing at 145cm, her height often leads others to underestimate her age, sometimes mistaking her for a grade school student, which she dislikes.

Her relationship with her father, Tatsuma Fujiwara, was strained due to her belief that he denied her inheritance of the family temple because of her gender. This misunderstanding was resolved when Hanae Ashiya helped her realize her father actually intended to offer her more life choices. This revelation prompted emotional growth, making Zenko more open in expressing her feelings.

Zenko gained the ability to see yokai after being bitten by the fox demon Yahiko, who placed a harmful mark on her arm to coerce Abeno and Ashiya into playing hide-and-seek. As punishment, she forced Yahiko to serve at her temple for a year, though he often shirks his duties. Despite this, they share a fond relationship; she brushes his fur in fox form and rewards him with his favorite snacks.

She attends the same high school as Ashiya and Abeno. Her best subject is Japanese History, while Art is her weakest. She favors udon but dislikes shiitake mushrooms, though she will eat them.

Zenko occasionally assists Ashiya and Abeno with yokai-related cases using her ability. She shares a particularly close friendship with Ashiya, trusting him deeply after he helped mend her family issues. Her ability to see yokai was initially limited to Fuzzy and Yahiko, signifying her ongoing connection to the supernatural world.

Her birthday falls on the vernal equinox, contrasting with Ashiya's winter solstice and Abeno's summer solstice, symbolizing their interconnected roles. She continues balancing temple responsibilities, school life, and occasional involvement in the Mononokean's work.
