Description
Ikuzō Kumaneko commands the Earth Granner defense organization. His dedication to helping people globally originates in university experiences assisting schoolmates alongside his friend, Dr. Bariki Kudou; the pair collaborated to solve problems for others in that academic setting. While frequently irritated by Bariki's habit of leaving experimental components scattered about and his chronic forgetfulness, Ikuzō genuinely admired Bariki's capabilities and maintained a trusting bond with him.

He carries a photograph of his family, reflecting his care for them. Ikuzō exhibits a protective stance towards his daughter, Rin Kumaneko, possibly heightened by his son Kakeru's prior disappearance. Discussing past events involving Kakeru visibly distresses him. Kakeru was an early Granner candidate preceding Raiga and Kuga Kudou. He vanished a year before the main events, later reappearing under the control of the alien group Dark Spinner, who deceived him into attacking Earth Granner.

After Kakeru's return as the pilot for Gao Granner Saber, Ikuzō advocated resetting Saber. He feared the machine's uncontrollable nature, demonstrated by past dangerous rampages when influenced by Dark Energy, and worried Kakeru could be harmed. This position caused friction with other Earth Granner members, who understood the deep bond between Kakeru and Saber and the emotional devastation severing it would cause. Faced with their perspective, Ikuzō eventually relented, allowing them to pursue alternative methods to subdue Saber without resetting it.

His surname, Kumaneko, translates to "panda" in Japanese. His first name incorporates a play on "Ikuzo," meaning "Let’s go," aligning with his catchphrase: "Alright! Let's go!". He and Kakeru ultimately reconciled their strained relationship.
