Description
Pochi Yamada, originally from the Tama and Friends franchise, appears as a human character in the 2020 anime adaptation. This white dog works as a guard at his owner Unokichi Yamada's tofu shop on Third Street. Born on October 2, he displays short light gray hair, golden eyes, and retains distinctive dog ears and a tail. His typical attire includes a pale yellow cardigan with a red-lined turtleneck collar, pastel green shorts, and white slip-on shoes.

Gentle yet easily frightened, Pochi possesses unique talents: distinguishing hard from soft tofu without physical contact—an ability that gained him newspaper recognition—and skillfully slipping out of his dog collar. His timid nature clashes with a desire to appear strong, sparking a short-lived rebellious phase.

Tama Okamoto is Pochi's closest friend. Their shared adventures include chasing a bell-collared cat in Episode 1, leading them to get lost outside Third Street after encountering the intimidating dog Bull; Nora later guided them back. Another outing unintentionally took them to the beach, where a crab pinched Pochi's nose, causing Nora concern upon seeing a photo of the incident.

Initially fearful of Bull after trespassing and eating his food, Pochi reassessed him after witnessing Bull's eccentric self-introduction ritual, forging a friendly rapport. Pochi also maintains friendships with fellow dogs Kuro Mikawa and Gon Noda, often spending time with them in the park.

Neighbors know Pochi as "Snow White" due to his white fur. He is recognized for unwavering loyalty to the tofu shop and his role within the Third Street community.
