Touka began as a warrior of the Evenkuruga tribe, famed for extraordinary swordsmanship, an unwavering code of honor, and a mission to eradicate evil. Initially serving Kucca Kecca under Lord Orikakan, she fought the Tuskur empire after being deceived about Emperor Hakuowlo’s involvement in Orikakan’s death. Upon uncovering the deceit and seeing Hakuowlo honor Orikakan’s remains, she swore loyalty to him as a bodyguard, seeking redemption for lives lost during her misguided service.
Her devotion manifested in overprotective habits—nightly vigils at Hakuowlo’s side and meticulous poison checks of his food. Embracing cultural traditions, she planned to bear his child, though misunderstandings prevented conception. She later co-raised his daughter Kuon, who affectionately calls her "Mother Touka."
After Hakuowlo’s era, Touka journeyed to Yamato with former foe-turned-ally Karulau, operating as wandering mercenaries. They founded the Hakurou-kaku inn to discreetly observe the nation. When Yamato’s heightened security lessened demand for bodyguards, she adapted by working as a servant there.
Touka balances headstrong duty with clumsy, easily flustered tendencies that often provide comic relief. She harbors an intense fondness for cute objects, from a childhood wooden doll to Aruruu’s pet Mikyuum and Aruruu herself. Other quirks include low alcohol tolerance and vulnerability to hot baths, where overheating causes fainting.
In combat, she wields a katana with exceptional agility to overwhelm foes. Extreme stress triggers a distinctive chicken-like "bawk" vocalization. Her bond with Karulau involves frequent teasing, while unresolved guilt over past deeds drives her commitment to Hakuowlo’s request: protecting the vulnerable.
