Description
Chōhi Yokutoku, whose real name is Rinrin, hails from a village where bandits murdered her parents during her childhood. Following her grandfather's death, profound loneliness drove her to create the "Rinrin Bandits" with local children, targeting villagers with disruptive pranks. This continued until Kan'u Unchou intervened, moved by their shared orphaned past. Kan'u confronted Chōhi, demanding to know why she inflicted suffering when she understood loss. The confrontation shattered Chōhi, who confessed her actions stemmed from isolation. The two forged a deep bond, swearing sisterhood vows—an event later prone to misunderstandings as it occurred while sharing a bed. Chōhi then left her village with Kan'u to aid victims of the Yellow Turban Rebellion and seek a leader capable of ending the conflict.
When Kazuto arrived in their world, Chōhi and Kan'u rescued him from bandits. Though Kazuto lacked the expected "Messenger of Heaven" status, Chōhi recognized his virtues and pledged loyalty alongside Kan'u. Unlike Kan'u's formal master-servant dynamic with Kazuto, Chōhi treated him with familial informality, consistently calling him "onii-chan" (big brother). Her formidable combat skills and fierce dedication proved indispensable to their faction. In narratives involving rival kingdoms like Gi, she appeared briefly with Ryuubi's forces during the anti-Toutaku campaign.
Chōhi exhibits a tomboyish, outwardly cheerful, and talkative personality, often referring to herself in the third person and ending sentences with "nano-da." Beneath this exuberance lies fragility rooted in deep loneliness and unresolved trauma. On one birthday, she experienced a devastating dream where her deceased parents wished her happiness before vanishing, causing her to break down until Kazuto vowed perpetual companionship. Her loyalty manifests as extreme dedication; she once defended a village solo against bandits while severely weakened by illness. She also possesses a distinct "big sister complex" toward Kan'u, initially resisting Ryuubi's attempts to join their sisterly bond before accepting her as another older sibling.
Romantically inexperienced and largely ignorant of sexual matters, Chōhi initially viewed Kazuto with sibling-like affection. As his harem expanded, she developed conscious romantic feelings, consulting Kouchuu Kanshou for advice on femininity and receiving a dress to enhance her appeal. Her naivety led to comedic moments, like dubbing a battle strategy "Operation Houkei-Peeling" unaware that "houkei" colloquially means foreskin.
In combat, Chōhi wields a massive spear with exceptional prowess, leveraging its forked blade for powerful slashing attacks. Despite her small stature, she possesses extraordinary strength—capable of matching Kan'u, sending multiple enemies airborne, or lifting battering rams single-handedly even while ill. Her agility and speed compensate for her size. Supplementary skills include expert trap design from her bandit days and competent horsemanship, though she notably rides a pig in anime adaptations. Weaknesses include relying on brute force over technique, low intelligence and patience, vulnerability to illness, and near-total illiteracy. Strategic roles elude her due to zero defensive bonuses in formations.
Distinctive traits include perpetually bare feet, a large appetite shared with characters like Bachou, and a tiger-shaped hairpin that changes expression with her emotions. She frequently groups with Bachou as someone excused from council meetings due to their shared lack of strategic aptitude. Her past includes adopting a bear cub and boar piglet as pets, released once they grew too large, leading to comedic attempts to "reunite" with wild bears and boars later in life.
