Goh's Scorbunny originated as a wild Pokémon in Wyndon, Galar, surviving by stealing food and bonding with a group of Nickit. To blend in, it covered its naturally white fur with reddish-orange markings in dirt, appearing brown. This Scorbunny led the group, coordinating thefts and sharing the stolen food. During an encounter with Ash and Goh, it battled Pikachu but lost. Goh defended it from an angry shopkeeper by falsely claiming ownership, sparking its interest. Inspired by Goh's words about greater goals and encouraged by the Nickit, it cleaned off the dirt and boarded a train to follow Goh to the Wild Area.

Initially, Scorbunny brimmed with high energy and mischievousness, craving attention and showing frustration when ignored. It enjoyed showing off through acrobatic jumps and playful teasing, like kicking Ash when annoyed. After officially joining Goh as his first Pokémon during a Gigantamax Snorlax incident – where it protected Goh, demonstrating loyalty – it began celebratory foot high-fives with him. However, Scorbunny struggled with its Fire-type identity due to an inability to use Fire-type moves, feeling insecure after being taunted by a Darmanitan. Determined to learn Ember, it trained intensely despite Goh's initial discouragement, stemming from Goh's belief it should focus on existing strengths. This conflict strained their relationship until Goh assisted it in channeling heat through its feet to ignite a rock projectile, successfully executing Ember and triggering its evolution into Raboot.

As Raboot, its personality shifted, becoming reserved, serious, and emotionally distant. It preferred solitude, leaning against walls or hiding its emotions, and stopped initiating physical interactions like the high-fives. This aloofness stemmed from lingering resentment over Goh's earlier dismissiveness and a desire for independence. Yet, Raboot retained deep care for Goh and its teammates, protectively watching over Sobble like an older sibling and calming it during emotional outbursts. It maintained a competitive friendship with Ash's Pikachu, observing battles intently and later sharing a fist bump with Pikachu and Lucario. A rebellious streak occasionally surfaced, like ignoring Goh's commands during battles, though mutual understanding grew over time, particularly after Goh supported Raboot in a dance-based confrontation. Raboot demonstrated loyalty by Dynamaxing to defend Goh from threats.

Raboot eventually evolved into Cinderace during a battle against Oleana's Milotic. This evolution reclaimed its enthusiastic and affectionate demeanor, reviving the foot high-five ritual with Goh. As Cinderace, it fully reintegrated into the team, displaying confidence in battles and maintaining its protective role, especially toward Sobble. Its journey reflected full-circle development: from a lonely thief to a dependable partner, balancing innate spiritedness with matured resilience.
