Description
Goh's Cinderace originated as a wild Scorbunny in Wyndon, Galar, surviving through food theft while leading a Nickit group. This Scorbunny exhibited mischievousness and showmanship, seeking attention via playful pebble-kicking. During a food theft encounter, Goh’s words about pursuing greater goals inspired it to follow him onto a train, where it persuaded Goh to accept it as his first Pokémon.
As Scorbunny, it showed fierce enthusiasm to prove itself as a Fire-type. This ambition sparked tension with Goh over persistently attempting Fire moves despite discouragement. It succeeded by igniting a rock with its feet, evolving into Raboot mid-battle against a Goldeen. Post-evolution, Raboot grew emotionally distant and reserved, often isolating itself and suppressing care toward Goh. It developed intense battle focus, observing Ash’s Pikachu during training, while internally conflicted—outwardly aloof yet protecting teammates like Sobble.
Raboot evolved into Cinderace confronting Oleana’s Garbodor. It regained an energetic, open demeanor, reviving its signature foot-high-five ritual with Goh. Cinderace remained protective, treating Sobble like a younger sibling by comforting its emotional outbursts and offering shoulder rides. It displayed mentoring instincts, teaching Hoenn Pokémon dance moves to defend territory from Loudred.
Relationships defined its growth. Its bond with Goh weathered strain during Raboot’s detachment, solidifying through shared ideals of friendship. Cinderace fostered close ties with Ash’s Pokémon, including Pikachu—with whom it played extensively as Scorbunny—and Lucario, exchanging fist bumps post-reunion. As Sobble’s caretaker, it emphasized nurturing instincts.
In combat, Cinderace wielded Pyro Ball, Ember, and Double Kick. Both evolutions occurred against Water-type opponents, marking its journey from a scrappy wild Pokémon to a strategically adept partner.
