Helios, guardian priest of Elysion, protects the Golden Crystal—Earth’s dream counterpart to the Silver Crystal. Known as Pegasus, he maintained spiritual ties to Prince Endymion during Silver Millennium, later connecting to Mamoru Chiba. Queen Nehelenia’s invasion cursed him into a winged white horse form, imprisoning him with a black rose in his lungs and afflicting Mamoru through their bond. To survive, Helios projected his spirit into the dreams of Chibiusa, Mamoru and Usagi’s future daughter, drawn by her purity. Revealing his name as Helios, he gifted her the Crystal Carillon bell to summon him and sought her aid in locating the Golden Crystal.
Helios transformed Mamoru’s kaleidoscopes into the Moon Kaleido Scope and Chibi Moon Kaleido Scope, empowering Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon to unleash the "Moon Gorgeous Meditation" attack. Initially believing Sailor Moon destined to unlock the Golden Crystal, he corrected his error after distressing Chibiusa. Comforting her, he confessed affection, shared a kiss, and briefly revealed his human form, recognizing her as the true maiden from his visions.
Guiding Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask to Elysion, Helios explained the shared history of Earth, Elysion, and their crystals. Sailor Moon deduced the Golden Crystal resided within Mamoru. Helios sacrificed his strength to send purifying crystals to the Sailor Guardians on Earth, leaving him near death as Nehelenia intensified his torture. After Nehelenia’s defeat, Chibiusa revived lifeless Helios using her Pink Moon Crystal and a kiss. Restored to his human form without the horn, he acknowledged Chibiusa as his destined maiden, facilitated Mamoru’s ascension to King Endymion, and returned to restored Elysion, promising Chibiusa a future reunion upon her maturity.
Calm, patient, and devoted to guardianship, Helios shares a profound bond with Chibiusa, implying future romance. He parallels Mamoru in ties to Earth, Elysion, relationships with the Tsukino heroines, and Golden Crystal connections. His design features light-blue hair, golden eyes, pale skin, and crystal-adorned white robes. As Pegasus, he manifests as a white winged horse with a golden horn (the Golden Crystal in anime) and light-blue mane and tail.
