Movie
Description
Mari's Mother is a married woman with one daughter, Mari Ohara, possessing blond hair and greenish-yellow eyes. Her existence was referenced inconsistently prior to her full appearance in *Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow*; Mari described her as a "Japanese mother" in certain official materials, though this detail did not appear in the original Japanese version.

Her primary involvement occurs during the movie. She arrives via helicopter—mirroring her daughter's signature entrance—to inform the remaining Aqours members that Mari, Dia, and Kanan vanished during a post-graduation trip in Italy, prompting Aqours to search for them. This claim is later revealed as a ruse orchestrated by her to locate Mari. Her true intention is to force Mari into an arranged marriage, sever her ties with Dia and Kanan, and end her school idol activities, which she deems frivolous.

Her opposition stems from witnessing Mari's emotional distress years earlier when Dia and Kanan disbanded their initial trio group. This experience led her to associate school idols with her daughter's pain and rebellion. During a confrontation in Italy, she challenges Aqours to demonstrate the "brilliance" of school idols to justify Mari's dedication. After Aqours performs "Hop? Stop? Nonstop!" in Rome—a performance featuring symbolic rhododendron flowers associated with Mother's Day in Italy, subtly reflecting Mari's gratitude—she concedes defeat, acknowledges Mari's resolve, and departs without further interference.

Her character design and limited narrative role remain consistent across appearances, with no significant development in other seasons or media beyond the movie.
