Ane, formerly a priestess alongside her twin sister Mone, guarded the Koryuumon, a vital dragon hole regulating the planet's energy. Their duty ended when the Amanto built the Terminal over the site, displacing both sisters. Forced to seek new work, Ane became a hostess at 'Snack Smile' in Edo's Kabuki District. She leveraged her priestess background to attract customers, though this strategy drew disapproval from Mone. Ane and Shimura Tae emerged as the establishment's most popular hostesses.
Maintaining a cynical view of men, whom she considers inferior to dogs, Ane also possesses a fiercely competitive streak. This drove her during a fundraising competition against Tae; to secure victory, she blackmailed a prominent customer, Matsudaira Katakuriko, threatening to inform his wife unless he spent more. Despite frequent arguments with Mone, Ane demonstrates deep concern for her sister's well-being. She also harbors regret over abandoning the Inugami Sadaharu and later attempts to reclaim responsibility for him.
Ane participated in significant events, including the Inugami Arc. Responding to news of Sadaharu's abnormal growth, she and Mone intervened, revealing the Inugami's true nature. They assisted Yorozuya in reverting Sadaharu using a ritual with a baseball-drawn pentagram. This arc also featured the contentious fundraising race against Tae at Snack Smile, which concluded without either hostess facing dismissal due to their strong performances. Ane reappears during the Ryugujo Arc and the larger Silver Soul Arc.
Her character design consistently features traditional priestess attire: a red hakama and white haori, complemented by long black hair typically tied at the back and a magatama necklace.
