Description
Abe no Hirari stands 180 centimeters tall with ochre hair and brown eyes. Born during the Meiji period with only one arm, this physical trait serves as a tangible connection to his past existence, symbolizing the arm he lost battling Orochi centuries before. Originally of the Abe clan during the Kamakura period, roughly 600 years prior to the Meiji era, he was raised solely as a sacrificial offering for Orochi. The clan demanded he discard all compassion and mercy, viewing him only as bait. His life held no personal meaning until he encountered the shikigami Botan. She became the first person to treat him as a human being, fundamentally altering his perspective and igniting a profound emotional attachment. His feelings for her remained unwavering even after learning her true, non-human nature and the impossibility of their future. Their relationship deepened, but Botan vanished after aiding in Orochi's initial sealing, deliberately erasing her memory from his mind to spare him pain. Consequently, he married a human woman, had children, and lived through centuries as his immediate family aged and died, leaving Sousei Abeno as his distant descendant.
His existence spans lifetimes due to a binding promise to reunite with Botan. Each time Orochi resurfaces, triggering Botan's reawakening, he is also reborn. This cyclical reincarnation includes a documented life during the Tensho era (1573–1592) where he reemerged as the warlord Oda Nobunaga and demonstrated significant interest in acquiring the Dokuro-Hoozuki. Another rebirth placed him in the Meiji era as a policeman in the keishitai during the Satsuma Rebellion.
