Description
Soma, deity of the Soma Familia, possesses a gaunt figure draped in a perpetually stained robe, his long, tangled black hair veiling portions of his face—a visage reflecting his singular fixation on brewing. Once showing genuine concern for his followers, he sheltered and nurtured young Liliruca Arde before ceding familial authority to Zanis. Withdrawal followed as Soma dismissed his devotees as frail souls ensnared by his addictive divine wines, their dependency enabling Zanis’s corrupt regime to spiral into exploitation.

Liliruca’s defiance against the wine’s allure shattered Soma’s apathy, compelling him to confront his abandonment of the familia. This reckoning spurred him to reclaim leadership, purge corruption, and seek atonement. Though haunted by shame, he covertly honors Liliruca’s milestones, such as her rank elevation, and aids her indirectly in pivotal events like the Great Faction War, withholding direct reconciliation from self-perceived inadequacy.

His reclusive obsession lies in perfecting divine wine, with even flawed batches commanding high value. The signature Soma wine delivers instant inebriation, while his preternatural olfactory prowess detects subtleties like residual traces of superior wine on Loki, untouched by her lips.

Post-reform, Soma labors to restore his familia’s integrity, operating discreetly to evade scrutiny—evident in furtive encounters near Daedalus Street. He monitors clandestine activities, recognizing rival deities’ influences through scent alone.

Echoing his namesake, the Hindu lunar deity linked to sacred libations, Soma’s journey arcs from aloof artisan to a leader wrestling with remorse, striving to harmonize his craft with the weight of moral duty.
