Description
Ganryuu Shimanouchi is the popular and gentle homeroom teacher for Class 2-B at Sakura Second Middle School, teaching physical education. This human identity masks his true nature as Voidera, a high-ranking Rank S Yo-kai of the Oni tribe. Under the command of his master Shutendoji (in human form as Theo), Voidera's mission is to locate the "princess."

As Voidera, he commands exceptional, masterful swordsmanship. His true Yo-kai form features dark coloration, fiery purple-violet hair, a green amulet or eye-like marking on his forehead, flowing arm hair, a white chest mane, and a subtle tail. He wears black pants with white cloud patterns secured by a dull gold waistband and formerly wielded the sacred sword Wildfire Brand.

Voidera displays absolute loyalty to Shutendoji, following orders without question. This is shown when he stalled Summer Adams and Bruno so Theo could secure the Stormweaver sword (SS012) and when he monitored Fukurou's confrontation (SS014), later berating Fukurou for failures and disobedience, contributing to Fukurou's transformation into Shinmagunshin Fukurou. He is harsh with subordinates, frequently reprimanding Fukurou and routinely insulting Bruno as "piglet." Despite being a disguise, his teacher persona exhibits authentic concern for his students' well-being.

The discovery that Summer Adams is the reincarnated princess Juno (SS037) shifts his allegiance. Following Shutendoji's lead, he pledges loyalty to Summer, kneeling before her despite her reluctance. He participates in supporting her, including accompanying her to the Shirayuki shrine and strategizing about her temporary awakening.

His story concludes during the Gloom infection crisis (SS043). While protecting Summer, Voidera becomes possessed by the Gloom virus. The corruption amplifies his obsession with Oni clan ambitions uncontrollably, driving him to attack Shutendoji. In their battle, Voidera regains momentary clarity and consciously asks Shutendoji to kill him to purge the virus. Shutendoji reluctantly complies using Voidera's own sacred sword, resulting in Voidera's permanent death while eliminating the virus.

In the continuity of *Yo-kai Watch 4*, an alternate resolution occurs where his soul is preserved within the Wildfire Brand after the anime events, enabling his eventual return to the physical realm.

Supplementary details include his preference for tempura over sushi. His Japanese name is 島之内厳流 (Shimanouchi Ganryū) for his human identity and 洞潔 (Dōketsu) for his Yo-kai form. He also possesses a Shinma-inspired transformation known as Shinma Douketsu (真魔洞潔).
