Description
Shinobu Senke hails from the family behind Kyoto's established Yukitsuna restaurant. To escape an arranged marriage with a bank vice president's son – intended to salvage her family's failing finances – she fled, joining former Yukitsuna employee Nobuyuki Yazawa to establish and run the izakaya Nobu. Her inherited, highly refined palate, essential at Yukitsuna, inadvertently cemented her status as heiress and triggered the marriage pressure. This past fuels her aversion to discussing it or returning home. Physically, Shinobu has brown hair and brown eyes, typically styled with a bandana, hair antenna, and ponytail. Though in her mid-twenties, her youthful appearance often causes her to be mistaken for a teenager.

As the primary waitress at Izakaya Nobu, Shinobu manages customer service with a generally cheerful and welcoming demeanor. However, she reacts sternly to any disrespect towards the establishment or its staff, showing particular protectiveness towards Eva, the dishwasher hired after attempting to steal a faucet. Her refined taste perception remains valuable for evaluating dishes, though she avoids garlic due to an implied allergy or strong dislike.

Her adaptability was demonstrated when she unintentionally created schnitzel sandwiches for Baron Brentano, solving a menu challenge through improvisation. Shinobu attracts significant attention from male patrons, including palace guard Hans, who develops a crush, and events like "Kisu Day" highlight this unintentional appeal.

Shinobu appears consistently in all official adaptations: the original light novels, the *Young Ace* manga serialization, the Sunrise-produced original net animation (2018), and the live-action television drama seasons (Season 1: 2020, Season 2: 2022, Season 3: 2023). The available sources across these media detail no significant character evolution or expanded backstory beyond her initial establishment.
