Description
Annerose von Grünewald, born Annerose von Müsel, entered life within a destitute aristocratic family. Her mother, Caribelle von Müsel, perished in a car accident during Annerose's youth, compelling her to assume maternal duties for her younger brother, Reinhard von Müsel. This responsibility forged an unbreakable bond between them. Following a move to a middle-class neighborhood, Annerose encountered the significantly younger Siegfried Kircheis. Stunned by her beauty, Kircheis initially fled, though Annerose later secured his promise to protect Reinhard—a vow Kircheis honored until his death.

A turning point arrived when a high-ranking nobleman noticed Annerose, igniting rumors that reached the Imperial Court. Kaiser Friedrich IV commanded her service as his consort at Neue Sanssouci palace. Her father, Sebastian von Müsel, accepted a substantial payment of 500,000 Imperial Marks, effectively selling her into this position. In exchange, Annerose received the title of Countess and the surname "von Grünewald." This act provoked Reinhard's fury, driving his vow to overthrow the Goldenbaum Dynasty and liberate her, setting Reinhard and Kircheis on their path to power. At court, Annerose faced isolation and hostility due to her origins, finding few allies like Viscountess Dorothea von Schafhausen and Baroness Magdalena von Westfalen. Enemies, including the Kaiser's former concubine Marquise Sussanna von Beenemünde, plotted against her, even attempting assassination.

Despite these trials, Annerose displayed no outward resentment. After her father's death, she arranged his burial beside her mother. She also intervened to spare Marquise Beenemünde, urging Reinhard to show mercy after the assassination plot was uncovered. Her existence remained largely confined within the palace walls, marked by quiet endurance.

Following Kaiser Friedrich IV's death, the Imperial succession crisis erupted into the Lippstadt War. During this conflict, Kircheis died protecting Reinhard. Kircheis had harbored lifelong, unspoken love for Annerose, though her feelings for him were never explicitly confirmed. In a subsequent conversation, Reinhard directly asked Annerose if she loved Kircheis. She declared her intention to retreat to the countryside in the Freuden Berge, refusing to see Reinhard again until he fulfilled his and Kircheis's promise to conquer the universe.

After Reinhard established the Lohengramm Dynasty as Kaiser, Annerose did not attend his coronation. She was elevated to Grand Duchess and became the default heir to the throne. She later emerged from seclusion to support significant family events, attending Reinhard's marriage to Hildegard von Mariendorf and maintaining contact. During a Terraist assassination attempt on the pregnant Hildegard, Annerose actively defended her, stunning an assailant with a thrown statuette, enabling Ulrich Kessler's intervention. In Reinhard's final days, she returned to nurse him until his death.

Though Annerose's direct actions were limited, her existence fundamentally shaped galactic history. As Julian Mintz observed, her role as Reinhard's primary motivation catalyzed his rise, the fall of the Goldenbaum Dynasty, and the establishment of the new empire. Her legacy remains inextricably tied to these transformative events.
