Description
Manaia Matawhaura Hato, nicknamed Mana, hails from New Zeiland, a nation mirroring real-world New Zealand. She serves in the New Zealand Air Force as a member of the League of Nations Air Force Aviation Magic Band, the Music Squadron.

Mana bursts with bubbly energy, radiating optimism and a cheerful spirit. She thrives on constant physical activity, filling her spare time with exercise and dancing, distinctly disliking stillness unlike some squadron mates. Her capricious kiwi bird familiar, Kyu-chan, is treasured for its cuteness despite kiwis being generally considered unsuitable familiars.

Within the Music Squadron, Mana handles vocals and dance choreography. She operates AT-6 Texan Striker Units, trainer aircraft built in Liberion and nicknamed "Harvard" in the Britannian Commonwealth; her familiarity hints at possible prior training there.

Mana's character design, background, and archetype inspired by Ana Matawhaura Hato confirm her Māori descent, making her one of the franchise's first witches of indigenous origins. Her kiwi familiar reinforces this cultural connection, the bird holding iconic national significance for New Zeiland.

Mana participates in the Music Squadron's world tour, performing morale-boosting concerts in locations like liberated Gallia. Her role supports the unit's mission of aiding civilians and military personnel affected by the war through musical performances.
