Description
Kotaro Takebayashi attends Kunugigaoka Junior High School's Class 3-E, sporting black hair combed over his temples, round eyeglasses reminiscent of artist Mizuki Shigeru, and a standard uniform of suit jacket, dress shirt, black tie, dress pants, and dress shoes.

Hailing from an elite lineage of doctors, his brothers study medicine at the University of Tokyo, pressuring him to excel. Placement in Class 3-E initially branded him a family outcast, fueling shame and transfer desires. He stayed after recognizing classmates' genuine support and teacher Korosensei's care, acknowledging his own bond with the class.

Typically quiet yet eccentric, he stands out as an oddball. He displays physical clumsiness but harbors intense interest in anime and maid cafés, once declaring a girl "isn’t a true girl until she loses the third D," revealing his preference for fictional characters over real women. He successfully influenced classmate Ryoma Terasaka to frequent maid cafés.

Academically, he excels in science but struggles in physical education, ranking fifth in class finals with 447 points. His analytical skills focus on statistical data and risk assessment, exemplified when opposing relocating virus-infected classmates to avert transmission. As Class 3-E’s demolition expert, he handles explosives adeptly, memorizing applications like using a shaped charge to breach a secure complex.

He collaborates with Manami Okuda, sharing scientific interests and teamwork in class missions. Post-graduation, they expand medical research using Korosensei’s legacy, developing revitalizing slime into a universal blood substitute. He easily influences Terasaka and admires Gakushu Asano while pitying Asano’s entrapment by paternal control.

During a school meeting, he embraced his underdog status, vowing to "enjoy going back to a life of waiting for just the right moment to attack the powerful," rejecting conventional success metrics. Briefly lured away by Gakushu and Chairman Gakuho Asano’s deception, he returned upon realizing his classmates' unwavering support.

Seven years post-Korosensei’s assassination, he partners with Okuda in advanced medical research, crafting universal blood transfusions from Korosensei’s scientific legacy.
