Description
Kihal Toghrul hails from Yuri Island, where her father serves as chief. She works as a bird trainer specializing in messenger birds for Clarines Kingdom, operating under Viscount Blaker who governs a coastal island in Clarines. Motivated to protect her homeland’s native birds from the Viscount’s exploitation and hunting, she travels to Wistal Castle to petition Prince Zen Wistaria for intervention.

She possesses long dark blue hair parted down the middle, secured with silver butterfly-shaped hairpins, and turquoise eyes. Her standard attire includes practical shorts, a white shirt, a hooded short cape, brown boots, and a distinctive black band around her right leg. She stands 168 cm (5'6") tall.

Strong-willed and outspoken, Kihal fights fiercely for her island’s birds and people. Her resentment toward nobility stems from Viscount Blaker’s oppression, which she views as emblematic of how the powerful exploit commoners. Skeptical of Prince Zen’s willingness to help, she fears dismissal of her concerns. Her constant companion is a bird named Popo, relied upon for emotional support and demonstrating the messenger birds’ capabilities.

Kihal’s bond with Shirayuki becomes pivotal: she swiftly confides in her about her distrust of nobility and mission anxieties. During a critical test proving the birds’ reliability, she entrusts Shirayuki with holding a bell. Afterward, Kihal gifts Shirayuki her own bell as a symbol of their connection. Witnessing Prince Zen’s genuine concern and Shirayuki’s faith in him at Wistal Castle, Kihal overcomes her prejudices. She explicitly chooses to trust Zen because Shirayuki does, shifting from hostility to cooperation.

Kihal later ensures Shirayuki’s safety, proving instrumental in rescuing her from the pirate gang 'The Claw of the Sea'.
