Bobo is Gamba's best friend, a gluttonous and easygoing town mouse with green fur. His name reflects his absentminded nature, and his sensitive nose is key for sniffing out food. In the original story, Bobo joins Gamba on a sailing journey to the harbor where they discover the injured mouse Chūta. He supports Gamba's decision to defend Yumemishima Island against the Noroi Clan, participating in the mission alongside other recruited mice.

The 2015 3D CG film *Gamba: Gamba to Nakama-tachi* (internationally titled *Air Bound*) reduces Bobo to a secondary character, with the character Mampuku taking over his original role as Gamba's primary companion and fellow town mouse. The 2017 Lionsgate English dub of this film (*Air Bound*) credits Max Mittelman as the voice of Bobo but maintains his secondary portrayal.
