Description
Okuni Midoriyama is a young female ninja from the Midoriyama clan, which serves Oichi's family alongside Hanzou Hyakki's clan. She sports short green hair and pink eyes, dressed in a green-and-black kimono with red trim featuring one exposed arm, and wears a yellow hair ribbon secured by a pink butterfly clip.
Trained in Battle Spirits by Hanzou, she criticizes his lax teaching methods involving lute-playing yet emerged as a prodigy, achieving S-Class rank with specialization in the green attribute. Her personality combines serious battle focus with disapproval of Hanzou’s carefree attitude and occasional ditzy moments.
Selected for the IBSA-endorsed national tournament team, her capabilities faced scrutiny from Katsuie. Hanzou intercepted his challenge, battling her instead. She initially used standard tactics before switching to high-risk maneuvers to defeat him. During the tournament finals' first round, representing IBSA against Hokkaido, she overcame Tsushirogarui. After this round, the format shifted to individual matches among 15 remaining fighters.
In the second round's fifth match, she confronted Yukimura Rekka. Despite effectively countering Samurai-Dragon-Amatsu’s Infinite Blade with magic cards, Yukimura defeated her, eliminating her from contention. Later, she aided Yukimura against Nobunaga to disrupt his grand scheme. At the series' conclusion, she joined IBSA teammates in bidding farewell to Nobunaga as he departed Japan.
Her Battle Spirits deck centers on green cards, emphasizing Bunshin and Winged Beast spirits. Key cards include The ShellWindDemon Yoroizumo, with X-rare deployments of The LightFangPhoenix Rekkuumaru and The Providence Hououga. Her documented battles include defeating Hanzou (Episode 30) and Tsushirogarui (Episode 33), plus a loss to Yukimura (Episode 36).
The character draws inspiration from Izumo no Okuni, Kabuki theater's founder, and shares parallels with Hagakure Shidou from Battle Spirits Sword Eyes as a ditzy ninja utilizing green Bunshin-focused decks.
