Description
Wataru Asahina holds the position of thirteenth and youngest son in the Asahina family, born on January 3, 2000, making him a Capricorn with blood type O. He begins the narrative aged 10 at a height of 140 cm, later growing to 150 cm as a teenager. His light salmon hair sports a distinctive ahoge in childhood, shifting to a thicker style with a small ponytail secured by a teddy bear clip as he ages. Brown eyes anchor his expressive face.

Early attire features a star-patterned yellow jacket with pink accents over a white long-sleeved shirt, lace-trimmed shorts, and yellow shoes. He perpetually carries a stuffed rabbit from eldest brother Masaomi in his pocket and a cat-shaped phone pouch on a lanyard. As a teen, he adopts a school uniform: a white coat bearing a cross symbol below the collar, blue-and-gold striped ribbon, buttoned vest, polo shirt, striped pants, and brown boots—retaining the rabbit toy in his coat pocket.

Sweet-natured and playful yet honest and determined, Wataru leverages his status as the spoiled youngest to charm others. He openly pursues stepsister Ema Hinata, vowing to mature into "a man worthy of her" despite acknowledging his youth as a barrier. He resents childish treatment and actively seeks validation through hobbies like karate, soccer, insect collecting, imitating his brothers, and devouring all cake varieties. His ambition targets becoming a future CEO.

Relationships define him: Masaomi serves as a father figure, crafting the cherished rabbit toy after their father’s death. With Ema, Wataru displays persistent affection, orchestrating outings like a shopping trip where she comforts him over suit-fitting woes. He playfully interacts with her squirrel Juli, carrying it by its ribbon like his stuffed companion. Among brothers, Ukyo enforces discipline while others indulge him.

Unique among siblings, Wataru shares a zodiac sign with the triplets Tsubaki, Azusa, and Natsume. He assigns nicknames like "Fuutan" to Fuuto and "Nakkun" to Kaname. His name, meaning "to extend," mirrors his growth arc. Initial encounters with Ema occur near the Sunrise Residence gate—alternatively while cycling with Masaomi—later shifting to an arcade where he demands she replace "Wataru-chan" with the more mature "Wataru-kun." An incident involving Natsume’s accidental fall into water varies across media depictions. His progression manifests through physical changes, heightened self-awareness, and steadfast resolve to earn Ema’s affection.
