Description
Myōkō is a Mental Model of the Fleet of Fog, serving as the personified avatar of the heavy cruiser Myōkō, the lead ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Myōkō-class cruisers. She appears as a young woman in her early twenties with short, strawberry-blond or pink hair that curls around her face. Her left eye is pink, while her right eye is concealed behind a mechanical eyepatch, which functions as a scope for targeting. She is the only Mental Model in the Fleet of Fog known to bear a scar. She wears an asymmetrical version of the student council uniform associated with Hiei's fleet, with the left side notably longer than the right, along with an armored bracer on her left hand and an armband identifying her as the student council vice president. Despite this, she has expressed dislike for the uniform.
Myōkō's personality is strong-willed and direct, often speaking in a masculine tone. She is loyal to the chain of command within the Fleet of Fog and serves as the vice president of the student council, a group of Mental Models organized under Hiei. In this role, she acts as a mediator among the other Myōkō-class Mental Models and carries out orders without hesitation. Her motivations are centered on fulfilling her duties to the student council and protecting the interests of the Fleet of Fog, particularly under Hiei's leadership.
In the story of Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova Cadenza, Myōkō is part of the fleet led by Hiei that confronts the Blue Steel. She is positioned in a reserve force alongside Nachi and Haguro, tasked with guarding Kongō during her flagship equipment change. When I-401 and her crew attempt to break through the defensive line, Myōkō attempts to intercept them using a sniper-style super-gravity cannon. Her precision targeting capabilities make her a notable threat, though her efforts are ultimately unsuccessful as the Blue Steel evades her fire.
Myōkō does not undergo significant personal development across the Cadenza movie. Her role remains that of a capable and dutiful subordinate within the student council hierarchy.
