OVA
Description
Mitsuyoshi Yagyu is a third-year middle school student at Daiwa Institute who appears as a supporting character in the Ikki Tousen series, first introduced in the Extravaganza Epoch OVA and later returning in Western Wolves. She is a Special A-rank fighter, a classification that places her among the more powerful combatants in the story. Her appearance is marked by long brown hair worn in a ponytail, brown eyes, and a school uniform often accompanied by a bow. She carries a Japanese sword named Muramasa Ittouseki, which she wields with considerable skill, and is also known to use kunai in battle.

Her personality is bright and innocent, with a straightforward and somewhat playful demeanor. She is confident in her own abilities to the point that she once wore an eyepatch while fighting an opponent in order to give them a perceived advantage, a gesture that reflects both her self-assurance and her sense of fair play. She has a prior acquaintance with Chouhi Ekitoku, having attended the same middle school, and their relationship is marked by a casual, teasing dynamic where they refer to each other with nicknames such as pashiri or heta-re.

Mitsuyoshi's role in the story is that of an antagonist from the Kansai region, acting under the orders of Himiko. She travels to Kanto alongside other western warriors with the mission of hunting Magatama, the sacred beads that grant fighters their powers. Her primary motivation is to fulfill this mission by engaging and defeating Kanto fighters. She first appears challenging Shiryuu Chou-un to a sword fight with the intention of taking her Magatama. Later, she is defeated by Houzouin Inshun, who overpowers her with his superior S-rank fighting ability. Despite these losses, she continues to appear as a recurring fighter on the Kansai side.

In terms of notable abilities, Mitsuyoshi is proficient in swordsmanship, specifically using the single-blade style represented by her Muramasa Ittouseki. She also employs kunai as a secondary weapon, allowing for ranged attacks. Her combat style is direct and aggressive, matching her bold personality. Throughout the series, she does not undergo significant personal growth or development, remaining largely consistent as a confident and capable fighter loyal to the Kansai cause.
