Description
Shun Maiyama stumbled into joining Shounen Hollywood following a misunderstanding in his initial meeting with manager Tesshi and the president. Though aspiring for a solo singing career, not idol activities, he stayed at Hollywood Tokyo for industry experience, lacking an immediate alternative path into music.

A gifted vocalist, guitarist, and aspiring composer crafting original songs, Shun ranked among the group's strongest musical talents. He initially dismissed core idol demands—especially dance training and glittery aesthetics—as embarrassing wastes of time, believing his talent deserved quicker fame. This dismissiveness manifested as sarcasm and frustration towards entry-level idol work.

Professional setbacks, stemming from disrespecting the industry and taking fans for granted, forced him to reconsider his attitude. Despite initial aloofness, he maintained functional and often unexpectedly friendly bonds with his fellow members.

Shun actively cultivated an onstage persona as the charming, flirtatious "Shun-Shun," a deliberate contrast to his offstage self. This included removing his glasses during performances as part of his idol image. His solo song "Pinkish Heart Ai" embodied this manufactured charm, and his designated Hollywood color was pink.

A pivotal encounter occurred when he met Ran Kazehara, a former member of the original Shounen Hollywood who had abandoned professional dancing despite his talent. This meeting underscored Shun's role as Ran's thematic foil: Shun craved stardom yet resisted the necessary groundwork, while Ran possessed the talent but chose a different life.

Confronting the realities of the idol industry ultimately drove Shun to slowly adjust his perspective and work ethic, evolving from viewing idol activities as beneath him to acknowledging their value within his career journey.
