Description
Woody-san, a character featured in the manga *Mobile Suit Gundam-san*, originates from Woody Malden of the original *Mobile Suit Gundam* series. In the classic narrative, Woody Malden serves as an Earth Federation Forces officer stationed at Jaburo and is engaged to supply officer Matilda Ajan, whose tragic death during the One Year War profoundly impacts him. After her loss, Woody dedicates himself to repairing the White Base and consoles pilot Amuro Ray, alleviating the youth's lingering guilt over Matilda’s demise. His story culminates during the Battle of Jaburo, where he intervenes in a duel between Amuro’s Gundam and Char Aznable’s Z’Gok, sacrificing his life to halt the conflict.
Within *Mobile Suit Gundam-san*, Woody-san is reimagined as a comedic figure, reflecting the manga’s satirical tone. His parody incarnation engages in exaggerated, gag-driven scenarios that humorously reinterpret his original persona and relationships, aligning with the series’ lighthearted approach to lampooning *Gundam* lore. The adaptation prioritizes humorous vignettes over narrative depth, maintaining his core identity while shifting focus to absurdity and whimsy.
