Description
Fromm Vantarhei is a 17-year-old Valiancer pilot for the Free Pact Alliance, holding the rank of ensign. He stands 1.70 meters tall with short, messy dark purple-burgundy hair and bright blue-green eyes. His standard uniform is white, while his pilot suit combines purple, white, and red.
Born in Zogilia, war orphaned him early. At a state-run orphanage, Dr. Hahn subjected him to unethical coupling system experiments where many children died, driving his escape to the Free Pact Alliance. This trauma forged his vow to halt Hahn's research, shaping his later choices regarding the coupling system. As a Lake Louis Training Academy cadet, he underwent compatibility tests showing initial potential with Dio Weinberg. Disinterest during examinations prevented meaningful connection, with Dio later noting his sociable nature yet fundamentally opposite personality.
Assigned to the spacecraft Cygnus, he piloted the Beryl Explorer. During a promotional campaign, he temporarily replaced Aoba Watase as Dio’s coupling partner, but incompatible waveforms caused failure. He then identified Aoba as a viable alternative, revealing their compatibility. Piloting the Bradyon once, he coupled with Aoba’s Luxon against Zogilian forces, though their synchronization proved less effective than Aoba and Dio’s. Post-engagement, he transferred permanently to the Cygnus Valiancer unit.
Technically adept with coupling-enabled Valiancers, prolonged use with Aoba would have permanently altered his waveform, locking him to her. When offered Aoba’s permanent partnership, he declined to retain coupling flexibility, preserving Aoba and Dio’s existing bond.
In combat, he demonstrated consistent reliability: preventing conflicts between Aoba and Dio, retrieving Aoba during a storm emergency, and participating in the defense of Hawaii Base and the Battle of Alaska, where he survived.
He maintains a friendly, approachable demeanor, smiling frequently and showing resilience under stress. His teasing manner toward Dio involves trivial topics before serious concerns, contrasting Dio’s reserve. He fosters positive relationships with most Cygnus crew, including Anessa Rossetti, who holds romantic interest in him.
