She rekindles a personal relationship with Fleet Captain Kanki Akuh during his temporary assignment to Achilles Springs base, following their prolonged separation after the decommissioning of his battleship Aoba. Keligan possesses blonde hair and displays increasingly erratic behavior as events unfold. Military intelligence suspects her subversion by an extraterrestrial species called "The Gods," with symptoms manifesting as heightened aggression and nymphomania during intimacy with Akuh—a condition medical diagnostics identify as a primary indicator of complete alien mental infiltration. In one encounter, she employs mood-altering substances to intensify their interaction, inflicting deep lacerations on Akuh's back which she later conceals using synthetic skin grafts.

Keligan covertly attempts to warn Akuh about an imminent attack on Achilles Springs, urging him to flee with her. When he refuses, she tries to kill him using narcotics, resulting in a lethal confrontation where Akuh kills her in self-defense. After her death, a hidden message in Akuh's wrist computer reveals she had partially resisted the alien control. Before becoming fully subverted during prisoner interrogations, she concealed intelligence about the impending attack and alien infiltration within the synthetic skin applied to his injuries, including a microchip containing critical enemy operational data.

Her actions establish her as a double agent working against the alien forces despite her compromised state. The intelligence she concealed enables the Martian military to successfully counter the attack on Achilles Springs and deploy the reconstructed Aoba battleship against the alien command vessel "Hell."
