Description
Seiji Yagashira, patriarch of the Yagashira family and owner of the antique shop Kura, oversees a legacy steeped in tradition. His son, Takeshi Yagashira, balances managing the shop with his career as a novelist, entrusting daily operations to Seiji’s grandson, Kiyotaka. Seiji shares a cautious rapport with Yoshie Takiyama—a friend and mother of Rikyū Takiyama—tempering his interactions with a reserved demeanor shaped by his reverence for aesthetic refinement.
When external forces threaten to expose fragments of his concealed past, Seiji’s reputation becomes a catalyst for conflict, pushing Kiyotaka to confront the escalating stakes. Beyond familial ties, Seiji orchestrates his grandson’s professional journey, insisting Kiyotaka expand his horizons beyond Kyoto through apprenticeships at Yawata City’s Shokado Garden Art Museum and Fushimi’s Kotani Brewery.
The Yagashira residence occasionally transforms into a cultural venue, hosting events such as Aoi Mashiro’s curated exhibition of Enshō’s paintings, reflecting Seiji’s enduring influence within both family and community spheres.
