TV-Series
Description
Brioche d'Arquien, born Hina Makishima, operates as a freelance Knight for the Biscotti Knights, holding the title of the land's strongest swordsmaster—a distinction exceeding even the "Strongest of Biscotti." She possesses brown hair, blue eyes, and long, thick braids incorporating dog ears. Her attire is typically the Biscotti Knights Secret Squad armor featuring light leather elements, and she carries both a backsword and an ōdachi at her waist.

Elegant and quiet, Brioche exhibits a fondness for wine and speaks with a formal, archaic pattern reminiscent of historical samurai, using terms like "sessha" and "~gozaru." Approximately 150 years before the main events, she discovered Yukikaze Panettone, a young Earth God, shortly after demons killed Yukikaze's family. Brioche took her in, becoming both family and mentor, and they began traveling together to combat demons, forging a profound bond. Yukikaze addresses Brioche as "oyakata-sama" (My Lady) as a mark of deep respect.

Brioche leads the Biscotti Knights Secret Squad (Onmitsu Butai), specializing in covert missions to locate and eliminate demons within Flognarde. Her combat prowess is exceptional, placing her on par with royalty like Princess Leo. Notably, during the second season, she battled Nanami Takatsuki to a rare draw, marking one of her few non-victories. Her swordsmanship focuses on mastering zanbatō-like ōdachis, with documented techniques including the Skycracking Cutter (烈空一文字), projecting energy blasts to slice targets; the Wrought Iron Cannon (瞬皇・煉天砲); and variations of the Wolf Destruction Fang (神狼滅牙), culminating in the Wolf Destruction Fang: Demonic Slayer (神狼滅牙・封魔断滅).

She maintains significant familial ties, including an older brother, master swordsmith Isuka Makishima. Their relationship features light-hearted tension, with Brioche reacting with visible fluster when Isuka uses her given name "Hina" and referring to him as a "foolish brother" in response to his questionable decisions. Contact with demon blood significantly slowed Brioche's aging process and initially inhibited her physical maturation, contributing to her prolonged lifespan.
