Description
Deia Chades is a scientist specializing in bioroid studies for the industrial nation of Poseidon. She was married to Alcides, leader of the shipborne Argonauts society. When a bioroid clone of her husband was created, it awoke a consuming jealousy within her. This jealousy drove her to betray the Argonauts by revealing their ship's location to Poseidon, which led to a missile attack. Alcides perished in the assault while shielding Deia from harm. Consumed by guilt, she fell into utter insanity.
After these events, Deia secretly operates a giant Hecatonchires-type Landmate, committing acts of terrorism against the city of Olympus. Her goal is the failure of its utopian project, specifically the effort to enable humanity to live in space. She specifically targets all remaining unprocessed bioroids that carry Alcides' genes for elimination.
Her campaign is one of vengeance and a distorted sense of atonement, connecting her personal tragedy to an ideological war against the structure of Olympus society. Her arc mirrors a Greek tragedy, a betrayal born of jealousy that yields catastrophic consequences.
Deia eventually confronts the last bearer of Alcides' genes, a newborn baby. In that moment, she finds the clarity to halt her attack. She achieves her final salvation through an act of self-immolation.
