Description
Yasubee Morozumi, codenamed Odin, operates as a low-ranking Zvezda member despite styling himself as the group’s "chief soldier." Tasked with menial duties due to his timid demeanor and unreliable track record, he compensates with a cowboy-inspired aesthetic—a ten-gallon hat, gas mask, and rugged jacket—to cultivate a rebellious persona. His past as a minor Shikaha Union subordinate under Goro Shikabane anchors his loyalty; after Kate Hoshimiya rescued him and Goro during a gang clash, her intimidating presence left him perpetually fearful yet obedient to Zvezda.
Admiring Goro’s former gangster bravado, Yasubee mimics his mentor’s smoking habits and tough-guy affectations, though his efforts falter under pressure. Frequent blunders—mishandling Natasha’s tech or sparking chaos—reinforce his reputation as a liability. A fleeting promotion to "Chief Combatant" after Asuta Jimon’s recruitment does little to elevate his standing, and mounting resentment over his marginal role drives him to betray Zvezda under Kaori Hayabusa’s manipulation. He leaks hideout intel and steals critical technology for the Tokyo Army, only to retreat back to Zvezda after their defeat.
Though spared major punishment, he endures trivial consequences like temporary exclusion from shared meals, his return punctuated by comedic anticlimax. Across media iterations, he persists as a comic figure—fleeing battles, venting frustration on trash bins, and drawing swift reprimands from allies and foes alike. Interactions remain surface-level, defined by transactional exchanges or his dual fixation on Kate’s authority and Goro’s legacy. Despite sporadic attempts at self-assertion, his core insecurities, cowardice, and instinct for self-preservation persist unaltered through every trial.
