Description
Shosetsu Kirisame serves on the disciplinary committee at Sengoku Academy and holds the rank of one of its four demon generals. Academically and athletically exceptional, he maintains a serious, reserved demeanor, typically communicating with minimal words and little visible emotion. This restraint characterizes most interactions, though he exhibits heightened engagement during Buddyfights. Physically, he possesses long silver hair, blue eyes, and wears a distinctive blue uniform featuring armored padding on the shoulders, chest, hips, and feet. A sword, later revealed as his Buddy monster, is visibly sheathed at his belt.
His initial encounter with Rouga Aragami's criminal persona "Wolf" near the Photon Metal mines sparked interest in Rouga's ability to manifest card effects in reality, occurring prior to their formal academy meeting. During Sengoku Academy's team match against Aibo Academy, Shosetsu defeated Kazane Fujimiya with relative ease and then overcame Zanya Kisaragi using strategic item-switching tactics and his Buddy's ability to bypass defenses. Before facing Gao Mikado, he accepted a Dark Core from Sophia Sakharov, triggering corruption that amplified his aggression and ambition. This darkness manifested when "Sword of the King, Excalibur" rejected his initial equipping attempt, causing him to employ Disaster Force in frustration. Tasuku Ryuenji destroyed the Dark Core using Future Force, ending its control and leaving Shosetsu with profound remorse. Gao Mikado permitted him to continue their match honorably, where he successfully equipped Excalibur but ultimately lost.
Following this redemption, Shosetsu adopted a marginally more approachable demeanor while upholding his core belief in self-attained strength. He continued competing in events like the Gaen Cup with Team Sengoku, facing Rouga Aragami again. During this duel, Rouga's Disaster Force activated autonomously, resulting in Shoshetu's defeat, an event prompting Rouga to question his loyalties. Shosetsu later deduced Zanya Kisaragi's awareness of Rouga's identity as "Wolf" but chose to withhold this information from authorities. In subsequent tournaments, including the WBC Cho-Tokyo preliminaries and World Buddy Masters, he suffered losses against opponents like Gao Mikado, Kanata Ozora, and Keisetsu of the Sword Arts.
In combat, Shosetsu wields a Legend World deck focused on the 《Hero》 attribute, utilizing "Immortal Sword, Durandal" as his primary Buddy monster. His strategy leverages synergistic "Link Attack" effects: "Knights of the Round Table, Gawain" and "Knights of the Round Table, King Arthur" gain Penetrate during linked assaults, with King Arthur additionally increasing gauge. "Knights of the Round Table, Galahad" recovers the defensive spell "Holy Grail" from the Drop Zone. "Great Magician, Merlin" enables strategic searching for 《Hero》 Spells or Items by discarding another 《Hero》 card. The deck incorporates versatile Items managed through Equipment Change mechanics for responsive swapping. Offensive options include "Durandal" for monster elimination and "Famous Sword, Hrunting" for direct attacks, while "Divine Protection, Prydwen" provides damage mitigation during opponent turns. "Sword of the King, Excalibur" demands significant setup—requiring ten or more 《Hero》 cards in the Drop Zone and discarding "Holy Grail"—but delivers high power, critical potential, Double Attack, and Shield negation to swiftly end battles.
