Description
Megumi Sudo, mother to Cecil and wife to David, faced a harrowing turning point when she and her young daughter were taken hostage atop an apartment building. During the standoff, police officer Kyosuke Oda opened fire, his stray bullet fatally striking Cecil. Driven by desperation, Megumi unleashed forbidden fire magic to shield her child, killing Oda—an act that led to her arrest and condemnation to death row under the Magic Prohibition Law, which mandates severe penalties for magical acts against humans.

Years later, Cecil’s revival emerged from a clandestine pact between Megumi and Shimon Makusu, a shadowy figure exploiting her maternal despair to resurrect the archangel Lucifer within Cecil’s body. Unknowingly, Megumi’s agreement ensnared her in a conspiracy that cemented her culpability for Oda’s death. While Cecil retains no memory of the tragedy, Megumi’s imprisonment galvanizes her daughter’s pursuit of justice as a wizard barrister determined to exonerate her.

Megumi’s choices, driven by fierce maternal devotion, underscore her willingness to defy lethal consequences for her child’s sake. Her incarceration exemplifies the magical legal system’s systemic injustices, disproportionately punishing wizards. Though her past beyond the hostage incident remains obscure, her legacy fuels Cecil’s resolve to challenge oppressive laws and advocate for society’s outcasts.
