Description
Ohatsu, daughter of Nagamasa Azai and Oyu, is the niece of Nobunaga Oda and sister to Yodo and Oeyo. She mediated between the Toyotomi and Tokugawa clans under Hideyoshi Toyotomi's rule. Ohatsu harbored intense feelings for Hideyasu Yuki (Soki) since childhood and was troubled by his opposition to Hideyoshi. Her concerns grew after her sister Yodo gave birth to Hideyori, observing significant changes in them both.
An expert marksman trained by Magoichi Saiga, Ohatsu employs a wide variety of firearms, explosives, and a grapple hook for traversal and accessing unreachable areas. This allows her to attack from range and navigate environments by swinging or triggering explosives. She possesses Genma-origin abilities, which she attributes to inheritance from her uncle Nobunaga, despite a plot inconsistency as Nobunaga became Genma after her birth.
Initially aligned with Hideyoshi's forces, Ohatsu monitored Hideyasu's activities alongside Munenori Yagyu. She attempted to convince Hideyasu to abandon his rebellion against Hideyoshi, confronting him at Suruga fortress. After defeat, Hideyasu invited her to join him, but Munenori intervened. Ohatsu later rescued Hideyasu from a collapsed cave and deduced Hideyoshi's plan to transform humans into Genma using Genma Trees, realizing Mitsunari Ishida manipulated Hideyoshi.
Munenori controlled Ohatsu via Genma Insects implanted in her body, threatening to activate them to trigger her transformation. As the infection progressed during her journey with Hideyasu to Mount Hiei, she visibly weakened. Minokichi advised killing her pre-transformation, but Hideyasu refused. After undergoing trials to become an Onimusha, Hideyasu returned too late to stop her full Genma transformation. He fought and purged the insects, saving her. Ohatsu then joined Hideyasu's group in the final battle against Hideyoshi and the Genma forces, personally defeating the Genma Ophelia.
Following these events, Ohatsu married her cousin Takatsugu Kyōgoku. She assisted her sister Yodo in caring for Hideyori. Despite her marriage and life of wealth, she never forgot her first love, Hideyasu.
In gameplay, Ohatsu's firearms offer unique tactical advantages in ranged combat, while her grapple hook accesses hidden areas. Her alternate costume resembles Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series.
