Description
Harubaru Hinode stars as the primary protagonist throughout the BakuTech! Bakugan manga and anime adaptations. This preteen boy sports vibrant orange hair, green eyes, and a signature outfit: a white fur-lined red jacket, yellow jeans with white trim, yellow socks, and red rubber shoes. Blue goggles with green lenses rest permanently atop his head as his trademark accessory. Post-timeskip, he gains height, adopts a new hairstyle, and dons attire reminiscent of Harou Kido.

His background centers on a fiercely competitive bond with childhood friend Raichi Kuronashi. Together, they conquered Master Shimo's test to earn their BakuTech titles, with Harubaru's infectious enthusiasm spurring Raichi to pursue Bakugan. They later joined forces with Koh Grif and Sho Grif to establish Team Dragaon. The manga delves deeper into their shared history, revealing details about their childhood apartment absent from the anime.

As a Pyrus-attribute brawler, Harubaru partners primarily with Flare Dragaon, which evolves into Gren Dragaon and later Rise Dragaon. His hot-blooded, sometimes reckless nature shines through his use of pronouns "ore" and "temee." Special Shooting Skills define his combat style: "BakuTech Flare Shoot," "BakuTech Double Flare Shoot," and "BakuTech Zigzag Flare Shoot."

Battle outcomes diverge between media. The manga depicts him undefeated against opponents like Raichi, BB, Siam (with Raichi), Atla, Shagi and Hyoga (with Raichi), Catol, and Harou Kido. The anime shows greater variance: victories against Raichi, Koh Grif, Quilt, Zakuro, and Harou Kido, but losses in a tag battle with Tohga (teaming with Raichi and Sho) and against Tatsuma. He consistently confides in Dragaon, calling it "Companion" (Aibou), before critical moves.

Character growth unfolds during Team Dragaon's Tavanel Cup campaign. Key narrative differences emerge: Harubaru never battles Tohga in the manga. The Jigen Ring's origin also splits—the manga shows Raichi forging it from their childhood apartment key, while the anime omits this backstory. Harubaru and Raichi adopt post-timeskip outfits earlier in the manga, starting at the Tavanel Cup's opening, versus the anime. Raichi's post-tournament departure lacks a manga farewell scene, contrasting his anime cameo to aid Harubaru in testing Jigen Dragaon.
