Description
Enrico resides in Seveso, Italy, as part of a close-knit group including Giulia, Maria, Lucio, and Angelo. His father serves as the town’s mayor, a position pivotal during the crisis triggered by the ICMESA chemical plant reactor collapse on July 10, 1976. When a toxic cloud—dismissed as harmless—spreads sickness and animal deaths across Seveso, Enrico collaborates with his friends and Japanese journalist Shirou Andou to investigate. Their efforts reveal the cloud transformed into lethal dioxin due to reactor overheating. Leveraging his father’s authority, Enrico facilitates critical communication that confirms the contamination, prompting the mayor to order citizen evacuations and limit poison exposure. Later, after discovering the responsible corporation destroyed evidence and might avoid legal repercussions, Enrico joins his friends in direct action. They disrupt a press conference to publicly expose La Roche corporation’s negligence and cover-up, seeking accountability through public condemnation when justice appeared uncertain.
