Prince Kuramochi is one of five noble suitors vying for Princess Kaguya's hand. To prove his devotion, he must retrieve a colored jewel from a dragon's neck. Unlike rivals who attempt deception with counterfeits, Prince Kuramochi abandons the quest entirely. Following a perilous sea voyage where he encounters a violent storm, he deems the task too dangerous to pursue. This forfeiture results in his automatic rejection as Princess Kaguya's potential husband. The character exists solely within this courtship narrative.
