Hazuki Sakurai, a first-year university student, leads the Hyper Sports idol team "May-Bee" as reigning champion of the Extreme Hearts Kanagawa Tournament. Recognized as Kanagawa's top Hyper Sports idol, she has participated in the sport since childhood.

Her appearance features long dark-brown hair, vivid red eyes, and a height of 163 cm. She typically dons a white shirt with a black collar, blue denim short shorts, a brown belt, and black-and-white sneakers. As May-Bee's center, she wears uniform number 8.

Hazuki commands the team with strategic insight, supported by sub-leader and longtime friend Tomo Miyashiro, who understands her exceptionally well. May-Bee includes members Yuriko Suemune, Chihiro Honda (nicknamed Hiro-kun), and Teena Merkies, a Dutch athlete leveraging her height and physicality. The robot Sanae manages the team under producer Shinji Ibuki.

She shares a notably positive dynamic with Emi Houjou of the idol group Smile Power, considering her a fairly good friend. Hazuki's surname Sakurai (桜井) combines "cherry blossom" (桜) and "well" (井), while her given name Hazuki (羽月) fuses "feather" (羽) and "moon" (月).
