Description
Vidaux Völker, a former police inspector, left the force after his wife died in a hit-and-run. Driven by revenge, he murdered the responsible driver and subsequently adopted the man's daughter, Mayuka, raising her as his own. He became a freelance contractor and hitman for the organization Destruct, accepting assignments for payment.

Vidaux operates a custom vehicle equipped with the artificial intelligence navigator Graham. Graham manages navigation, weapons systems, and can take control of driving. While on assignment in the war-scarred terrain, Vidaux and Mayuka encountered Derrida Yvain under attack by militarized autonomous machines. Vidaux agreed to assist Derrida strictly for payment, demanding compensation for protection and transportation, setting the fee as "the value of Derrida's life itself."

He transported Derrida in Graham while Mayuka accompanied them. Vidaux utilized a scanning device to check Derrida's identification, demonstrating technical knowledge. Later, learning Derrida sought Mage Bilstein to correct a critical flaw devastating the world via the machines, Vidaux continued his aid. Upon discovering evidence that powerful entities intentionally engineered the flaw, Vidaux chose to assist without further charges, explicitly stating his involvement was no longer driven by profit.

In confrontations, such as against fellow Destruct contractor Donna sent to eliminate Derrida, Vidaux employed combat skills and weaponry. During one mission, he retrieved a robotic support dog from a former police station. He displayed a protective nature towards Mayuka, frequently instructing her to stay with Graham during danger.

Ultimately, Vidaux participated in a diversionary tactic during a critical operation to stop the rampaging machines, drawing enemy forces away from Derrida. His journey evolved from paid mercenary to committed participant in resolving the world's central conflict.
