Description
Kyōko Asechi presides over Pretty Top, the agency guiding Prism Stars through figure skating performances blending fashion, song, and dance. At 37 during Dear My Future events, she possesses dark brown shoulder-length hair, light brown eyes, and typically wears glasses. Her appearance evolved from childhood pigtails to the long wavy hair she sported halfway down her back as a Prism Star.

Her past is marked by complex family dynamics. She deeply admired her father, Kintaro Asechi, designer of the Symphonia clothing series, yearning to help complete his designs and fulfill their family's aspirations. Unaware, Kintaro secured her Prism Show victories by paying competitors to withdraw. Discovering sabotage against rival Sonata Kanzaki before a competition ignited Kyōko's fury, prompting her to demand the culprit be found – a clear rejection of underhanded tactics despite benefiting from her father's actions. Her parents divorced due to Kintaro's Symphonia obsession. Kyōko blamed her mother, Kei, for preventing her from living with Kintaro and resented her further when he failed to return as promised. Kei subjected Kyōko to relentless Prism Show training focused solely on perfection, devoid of joy. Consequently, Kyōko won the Prism Queen title but never smiled during her victory. Witnessing this, Sonata resolved to become Kyōko's rival and friend, forging their intricate bond. After Sonata retired to raise daughter Rizumu, Kyōko publicly challenged her return, unintentionally leading Sonata down the harsh training path under Kei that Kyōko herself had rejected.

Kyōko later co-founded Pretty Top with Jun Takigawa. She was previously engaged, but her fiancé abandoned her before their wedding. Initially believing Jun was her half-brother through Kei, Kyōko discovered his adoption by her family after finding a photo of his biological parents in her father's journal, confirming no blood relation.

Personality-wise, Kyōko exhibits strictness and thriftiness, often prioritizing talent acquisition and financial efficiency at Pretty Top. She chastises protégés falling short of standards and hesitates on unnecessary spending. Yet she upholds strong principles, refusing victory through dishonor, exemplified by defending Sonata against sabotage. Her blunt, occasionally boorish demeanor contributed to past romantic rejections. Beneath this stern exterior lies deep loyalty; she wavered on allowing Prizmmy and PURETTY to rescue Aira from Symphonia Corporation until Jun reassured her.

Her development culminates in Dear My Future. After Jun shielded her from revelations about her father's manipulations, he proposed following the Road to Symphonia event. She accepted, becoming Kyōko Takigawa. The series concludes with them visiting Jun's parents' grave, where he introduces her as his fiancée, signifying her emotional resolution.

Her name reflects her character: "Kyōko" (今日子) combines "today" and "child," while "Asechi" (阿世知) incorporates characters for "flatter," "world," and "knowledge." Her married surname "Takigawa" (滝川) means "rapid river."
