Kanshou Kouchuu is a male fighter originally tied to Tougenin Temple, later shifting allegiance to Seito Academy to safeguard Gentoku Ryuubi. His monk-inspired attire includes a yellow shirt, black vest, and a nearly shaved head with scattered gray strands.
Fiercely protective of female students under his guardianship, he harbors a lewd inclination, exemplified by nosebleeds while sorting girls’ laundry. A truth-exposing stone publicly confirms these urges, earning him the moniker “perverted priest.”
His narrative prominence begins during a forest skirmish against Ekitoku Chouhi, whom he overpowers with only minor injuries. Soon after, he abandons the temple alongside Koumei Shokatsuryou to bolster Seito’s ranks. At a festival clash, he duels Genjou Kakouton to a stalemate until Kyosho forces withdraw upon completing their mission.
After the Battle of Red Cliffs, he remains stationed at Seito Academy with Youjou Bashoku as part of its defenses. Later interactions show him in relaxed settings, such as Ekitoku clumsily spilling food on him at a restaurant.
As one of Gentoku Ryuubi’s "Five Tiger Generals"—alongside Kan'u Unchou, Ekitoku Chouhi, Chou'un Shiryuu, and Bachou Mouki—Kanshou diverges from his historical archer counterpart Huang Zhong, never wielding a bow. He specializes in close-quarters combat and tactical diplomacy, notably securing an alliance between Seito and Nanyo Academy by delivering the Dragon Jade as a truce token.
