Ryoushuu, a mountain bandit living a boisterous life, encounters a mysterious woman in the forest and forcibly takes her as his wife. When she demands relocation to the capital, he abandons his mountain existence to accompany her.

In the capital, his wife displays intense materialistic cravings and imposes increasingly violent demands. She pressures Ryoushuu to procure luxuries like kimonos, then commands him to kill people and bring her their heads for her collection. Ryoushuu complies, committing murders to fulfill her escalating brutality, shifting from independence to subservience under her control.

The climax occurs when his wife demands to see cherry blossoms in full bloom. Ryoushuu transports her to a forest abundant with cherry trees. Amidst the blossoms, she unveils her true demonic essence, declaring her intent to devour him and revealing her past human forms were disguises for consuming previous husbands. In a final confrontation under the cherry blossoms, Ryoushuu transforms into a demonic figure himself and attacks her, resulting in their mutual destruction.
