Description
Taiyou Sorano manifests as the true reincarnation of Buddha, specifically an iteration of El Cantare. He leads TSI, a clandestine global organization committed to propagating Buddha's "teachings of the mind" and liberating souls from demonic forces. Embodying compassion and selflessness, he champions altruism and love as fundamental tenets. His mission directly counters Tousaku Arai, a false prophet advocating Social Darwinism whose power originates from demons.

Symbolized by light, he frequently appears in a white suit with a luminous aura, accentuating his divine essence. His spiritual abilities include astral projection, permitting remote assistance through teleportation or projection. During a summer festival crisis, he enables Sayako Amanokawa to dismantle Arai’s alien invasion illusion, transmuting attacking UFOs into a colossal lotus flower—a Buddhist purity emblem. His exorcism prowess cures Shunta Amanokawa’s demonic possession, inflicted by Arai’s followers. He reveals Shunta’s affliction stems from a demon and discloses Sayako’s spirit-sight as pivotal to exposing Arai’s falsehoods.

In the climax, he confronts Arai at a baseball stadium after Arai kidnaps Sayako and threatens mass murder. Arai, fully demon-possessed, engages him in spiritual combat. He defeats the demon, freeing Arai, who expresses remorse. Post-victory, he publicly declares his Buddha identity and unveils Sayako, Yuuki, and other TSI members as reincarnations of his 2,500-year-old disciples. His teachings stress overcoming suffering through mental transformation, exemplified when he assures Dr. Amanokawa of the afterlife and mental disease-curing potential, implying the doctor’s terminal illness recovery.

His influence endures through TSI’s worldwide dissemination of Buddha’s teachings. His legacy guides followers toward enlightenment and opposes destructive ideologies, reflected in Arai’s imprisonment and subsequent gratitude for enlightenment.
