Description
Coach Nakao, head coach of Seishū High School’s baseball team and father to team manager Yuri Nakao, fights to salvage both his position and the club’s survival amid a relentless losing streak. The arrival of Eiji Kurahashi, a nationally acclaimed pitcher, injects hope into the struggling team, securing Nakao’s role. His past mentorship of Kentarō Yamanaka—a star pitcher from Bunan High whom he trained during their childhood as neighbors—resurfaces when Kentarō clashes with Seishū player Katsuya Niimi over Yuri’s affections.

Nakao’s coaching philosophy centers on perseverance and resilience, ideals he champions during a decisive conversation with Kurahashi’s father, arguing for extracurricular activities’ role in personal growth. This intervention not only reinforces his beliefs but paves the way for Kurahashi’s return. His relationship with Yuri adheres to traditional expectations, her dutiful support contrasting with her timid reluctance to voice her feelings, sparking quiet friction.

Though his background remains anchored to his mentorship legacy, details beyond his role as coach and father are scarce. His narrative revolves around stabilizing the team under external pressures, prioritizing collective resolve over individual storylines, with no exploration of his life beyond the field or familial ties beyond Yuri and former proteges.
