Description
Originally named Shizue Izawa, Shizu was a Japanese child torn from Tokyo during WWII bombing raids, sustaining severe burns before her transportation to another world. Demon Lord Leon Cromwell summoned her accidentally while attempting to summon Chloe Aubert. To stabilize her injuries and volatile magicules, Leon bound the flame spirit Ifrit to her body. This fusion preserved her life but inflicted constant physical and emotional agony, making her perceive her powers as a curse. She served as Leon’s aide and bodyguard until his apparent desertion during an assault by the Hero—though Leon planned for the Hero to take her in.

The Hero, Hinata Sakaguchi inhabiting Chronoa’s body, defeated Shizu but acknowledged her humanity. Hinata provided an Anti-Magic Mask to suppress Ifrit’s influence and mentored Shizu. After Hinata’s departure, Shizu rose as a legendary adventurer titled "Conqueror of Flames" or "Explosive Monarch," achieving A+ rank in the Free Guild. She co-founded the guild’s precursor and established protocols that significantly reduced adventurer fatalities. Later, she taught at Freedom Academy, mentoring otherworlder children including Yuuki Kagurazaka and Hinata. Students observed her strict yet deeply compassionate demeanor, dubbing her "The Demonic Head Instructor."

Aging past 80 years—though magic sustained her youthful appearance—Shizu’s control over Ifrit waned. Seeking answers from Leon and a way to shield her students from similar fates, she journeyed into the Jura Forest with Kaval’s Party. As her life force faded, Ifrit fully possessed her. In a final act of defiance, she severed the bond to die human rather than majin. Rimuru Tempest defeated Ifrit and briefly revived Shizu’s consciousness. She requested Rimuru to consume her body, confront Leon for acknowledgment, and safeguard her students. Upon devouring her, Rimuru assumed a human form mirroring Shizu’s youth and inherited her memories and resolve.

Shizu’s legacy endured posthumously. Her soul persisted within Rimuru, manifesting during Rimuru’s battle with Hinata to break a mental curse and warn about Yuuki. In lighter spin-offs like *Slime Diaries*, her spirit occasionally surfaced as a spectral observer. Mobile games such as *ISEKAI Memories* explored her backstory and connection to Rimuru, featuring scenarios like a bridal-themed event.
