Description
Hazama holds the position of First Star within the Shichisei, a cadre of elite undead motivated by their core natures. He serves as the right hand to Hokuto, the group's true leader. His power revolves around insect manipulation, commanding swarms and projecting massive centipede limbs from his own body to ensnare or eliminate targets. He appears as a middle-aged man with long black hair and a mustache, typically dressed in a grey yukata and marked by the Big Dipper symbol on his neck signifying his Shichisei rank.

Historically, Hazama orchestrated a devastating assault on the Kougon Sect in a remote region, leading potent Shikabanes. This conflict inflicted heavy losses on the monks, culminating in the fate of Hibiki, the Shikabane Hime contracted to monk Akasha Shishidou. After Hibiki destroyed over 108 Shikabanes, she reverted to a feral state and attacked allies, compelling Akasha to kill her—an outcome Hazama observed with clear amusement. He later masterminded the brutal massacre of the Hoshimura family, targeting them for their ancestral ties to the Kougon Sect and their specific role in creating Hokuto via a sacrificial ritual. Makina Hoshimura became a Shikabane Hime as a direct result of his actions.

During the series' events, Hazama allies with Akasha and the "Unclean Bunch," utilizing their resources to advance the Shichisei's objective of annihilating the Kougon Sect. He kidnaps classmates of Ouri Kagami to lure targets into subterranean tunnels, overwhelming initial opposition until Makina intervenes, though he easily defeats her in their first encounter. He reveals to Makina her family's involvement in Hokuto's creation, stressing their shared bloodline and framing her as a natural enemy. As part of his grand design, he hijacks two commercial airliners, directing them to crash into Yama City to generate countless new Shikabanes and incite widespread chaos.

His schemes falter when Akasha betrays the Shichisei, reviving Hokuto as his own Shikabane Hime to atone for killing Hibiki. Following the near-destruction of the Shichisei, Hazama flees with Hokuto to an abandoned complex. In the final confrontation, he displays signs of mental instability, laughing maniacally while observing Hokuto battle Makina and Ouri, culminating in an unresolved fight. He consistently demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice human lives and manipulate allies like Akasha, viewing them as expendable instruments for his goals.
