TV-Series
Description
Flesh Backbone operates as a contracted Shikabane Hime under monk Kanechika Umehara in the Kōgon Sect. A foreigner who perished in a plane crash en route to Akihabara, Japan, her death fueled an intense obsession with anime, cosplay, and otaku culture, directly motivating her undead resurrection to pursue these passions. She appears exclusively in the anime's second season (*Corpse Princess: Kuro*), replacing the manga character Touma Sawamiya. Her personality mixes immaturity and lightheartedness with combat seriousness. A deeply ingrained otaku, she frequently engages Umehara in fervent debates over topics like two-dimensional versus three-dimensional preferences and doujinshi versus figurines, exhibiting greater intensity than Makina Hoshimura and Keisei Tagami's dynamic. In combat, she primarily wields pistols but also incapacitated fellow Shikabane Hime Saki Amase and Itsuki Yamagami using oversized shurikens. Her narrative role involves delivering key information about Makina Hoshimura's status, initially observed peering into Makina's containment cave. She is one of Umehara's two contracted Shikabane Hime, the other being Touma, who is absent on "vacation" during the series events. Her established role and traits remain consistent without significant development.
