Description
Mexiah Flan, also known as Doll and originally designated Doll Third, is one of three artificial humans created by the ancient Senshi Civilization for the sole purpose of defeating Gaia. Unlike her predecessors, she was entrusted to a human family to be raised, a measure intended to foster understanding of humanity and prevent her from going berserk due to flawed command protocols. Following Gaia's defeat, both she and Gaia were buried underground, her memories erased and her form reverted to that of an infant. She was later unearthed and discovered by Naua Furan, who adopted her, making her the older adopted sister of Chiaia Furan.
As Mexiah Furan, she serves as a martial arts instructor at Holy Land Academy and is a Sacred Mechamaster, holding the rank of Sacred Mechaguardian with the authority to baptize others. In stark contrast to her serious sister Chiaia, Mexiah possesses a shockingly affectionate and hedonistic personality, showing little regard for modesty and frequently appearing in minimal clothing. She is popular among female students and has engaged in intimate behavior with them, confirming a bisexual orientation. She immediately recognizes Kenshi Masaki's superior swordsmanship and discovers his susceptibility to hypnosis, a weakness she exploits for her own amusement.
Her existence is violently upended when Lord Babalun uses his knowledge of artificial humans to activate a dormant override command. This forces her to revert entirely to her original form and identity as Doll, placing her under his absolute control. In this state, she pilots a black Sacred Mechanoid armed with a scythe that also functions as a gun and wields the Shield of Gaia—a massive, indestructible shield featuring a mouth capable of consuming sections of opponent mecha. The shield's black color suggests she may be the legendary "Master of Darkness" destined to destroy the world. As Doll, she displays a chilling disregard for human life, laughing as she attempts to kill opponents like Aura Shurifon. However, she retains an unexplained attraction to Kenshi Masaki, which she initially dismisses as a residual effect of Mexiah's personality.
Her development culminates in the final conflict when she realizes her feelings for Kenshi are genuine and not merely an echo of Mexiah. This leads her to actively defy Babalun's orders in order to protect Kenshi from harm. Her defiance proves instrumental in enabling Kenshi to disable Gaia and shatter Babalun's control over her. Once free, she willingly reassumes the form and identity of Mexiah Furan, reuniting with her adopted sister Chiaia.
A clear physical distinction exists between her two forms. As Mexiah, she is tall and lightly tanned, with green eyes, a well-endowed figure, and distinctive pink hair. As Doll, she is shorter with pale skin and long, straight green hair whose bangs often obscure her eyes. After regaining her freedom, she exhibits a limited ability to selectively combine attributes from both forms.
Genetic analysis reveals her adoptive father, Naua, and a researcher named Araia Meiza were used as templates for her genetic code. Their differing social status kept them apart, though Naua secretly loved Araia, who died in an accident soon after Doll was discovered. It is also noted that she cannot directly attack Kenshi Masaki, for reasons that remain unclear but may be linked to his own partial artificial human heritage or Mexiah's ingrained feelings for him.
