Description
Kuro Kagami is a 10-year-old student at Futatsubashi Elementary School, standing 139 cm tall with black hair and eyes. As the only child of wealthy divorced parents—her father left due to infidelity—she developed a general distrust of men. Her mother’s demanding career provided material abundance but little attention, initially molding Kuro into a stereotypical spoiled child: egotistical, judgmental, and prone to mocking others. This made her unpopular until she befriended fellow misfits Rin Kokonoe and Mimi Usa in first grade.

Kuro’s early dynamic with Rin was problematic; she treated Rin as a living doll, applying makeup and dressing her without consent. A pivotal shift occurred when Kuro criticized and attempted to remove a handmade dress from Rin’s mother, provoking Rin’s first emotional outburst since her mother’s death. This catalyzed Rin’s recovery and fundamentally altered Kuro’s perspective, sparking genuine admiration and fierce protectiveness toward Rin. Over time, Kuro’s feelings evolved into romantic attraction, unreciprocated by Rin. This unrequited love intensified her hostility toward teacher Daisuke Aoki, whom she viewed as a rival for Rin’s affection. She derisively called him "Doutai" (virgin), accusing him of incompetence, naïveté, and being a lolicon.

Despite her contempt for most adults, Kuro idolized strict teacher Sae Shirai for her sincerity and no-nonsense demeanor, eventually forming a tentative friendship. Kuro retained core traits: a short temper, obsession with high-end fashion—particularly Gothic Lolita styles, often accessorized with cat ears and tails—and a tendency to flaunt wealth through daily wardrobe changes. She prioritized public school to avoid dress-code restrictions.

Academically disinterested, Kuro distracted herself in class with fashion magazines or her phone. Yet her loyalty to friends was unwavering. She collaborated with Rin on schemes against authority figures and defended Mimi from bullying. In later grades, she focused on improving her grades to stay with Rin and Mimi for middle school, revealing latent academic capability when motivated.

As she aged, Kuro’s maturity slightly increased, though her assertiveness and fashion passions endured. She reconciled with her mother, assisting in her boutique business, and maintained her feelings for Rin despite acknowledging their likely unrequited nature. Her protectiveness of friends and disdain for perceived adult insincerity continued to define her interactions.
